Flood Warning Ends, Watch In Effect

The Essex Region Conservation Authority has ended a flood warning for the region, however a flood watch remains in effect.

The conservation authority says due to predicted winds of 30-50 km/hr over the next 72 hours, with the potential for wind gusts up to 60 km/hr, there is a possibility of flooding, shoreline erosion and damaging waves.

The affected areas are along the Lake Erie shoreline on the east side of Pelee Island, along the southeast shoreline of Leamington between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee, and along the Lake St. Clair shoreline including the western portion of Lakeshore, Tecumseh and the eastern portion of Windsor.

The Detroit River may also experience increased water levels.

The flood watch will remain in effect until Monday at 4pm.
