Kingsville's push to develop its waterfront is getting a big hand towards the $3-million fundraising goal.
Mayor Nelson Santos tells BlackburnNews.com a $250,000 donation from an anonymous donor is well received.
"Now we have someone from our community who's stepping up, sharing that same vision and willing to do something and help us make a real big splash in kicking off the Mettawas Park development," says Santos.
The anonymous donor is matching community donations over the next year up to an additional $250,000 — for a potential total of half million dollar donation from the anonymous donor towards the cause.
"We're looking to the community to help us take advantage of this great gift," says Santos. "It's a tremendous boost no question."
The Mettawas Park project includes new gardens, green space and walking trails as well as a new splash park and the restoration of Kings's Landing.
