A Decade Of City Service

Windsor's 311 call centre is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.

More than 380,000 service requests have been processed and 1.1-million information inquiries have been answered over the last decade.

But Manager Alena Sleziak says daily data collection might be the most important function of the centre.

"It allows us to do some analytics with that data, to get it back to the departments so they know what volume of work is coming in," she explains. "They can see those trends, and they can address those things."

A new texting feature was introduced by Windsor 311 earlier this year, and Sleziak says she'd like to see the city eventually develop an app to make it even easier for residents to submit questions and service requests.
