Jones' Brother Named Interim Express Coach

Tony Jones is the new Interim Head Coach of the Windsor Express.

The 55-year-old is Director of Basketball Operations Bill Jones' brother.

Jones' coaching resume includes recent stops as an assistant with the University of Tennessee and Auburn, but he says he couldn't pass up the opportunity to work alongside family. "We (Bill and I) haven't been together for a year in over 25 years. Either I was coaching collegiately, he was playing professionally at different levels, or he was coaching."

Jones describes the game he'd like to see his team play as fast paced with a focus on defence.

He hopes to use this one-year term as Windsor's head coach to possibly step into another professional basketball head coaching position, whether that be overseas or otherwise. Jones also talks about the possibility of moving back into the college ranks as a head coach.

Bill Jones was suspended as head coach of the Express for the coming season after a scuffle before Game 7 of the NBL Canada championship series last spring.
