County Warden Recovering In Hospital

Essex County Warden and Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain is hoping to be back to work by the end of the week after breaking four ribs, a bone in his back and shattering his collar bone.

"It might be light duties, but I'll be back," says Bain, speaking to BlackburnNews.com while recovering in hospital following the Tuesday morning incident.

"I was just jogging my horse and the safety strap there broke on it and it went right off the edge of the horse and the cart and I went right off the edge of the track," says Bain. "Probably will be awhile before I'm back jogging him. I'll be back on the political end of it anyway."

Essex County Deputy Warden Ken Antaya and Lakeshore Deputy Mayor Al Fazio have both been notified by Bain they may have to cover his duties at the respective councils.
