Flyers And Vipers Must Win

The season is over for the Leamington Flyers if they don't win tonight.

The Flyers are down 3-1 in their Sutherland Cup semi-final series against the Caledonia Corvairs following Thursday night's 6-2 loss in Game 4.

Cale Phibbs and Mitchell Amante scored for Leamington in the first period, but the Corvairs shut their offence down after that. "They were faster. They were stronger. They were bigger. They were better in every position," says head coach Tony Piroski. "I don't think we had our best game. That's for sure."

Leamington visits Caledonia for Game 5 and Piroski says his team has to step up. "We've got to win down there, come home and win at home and then the seventh game, as far as I'm concerned could be played anywhere."

In the other Sutherland Cup semifinal, the LaSalle Vipers play Game 6 against the Elmira Sugar Kings at home. Elmira leads that series 3-2.
