The Town of LaSalle's CAO will continue to discuss shared services with other municipalities in Essex County, however, changes to its police service will not be on the table.
Mayor Ken Antaya says he participated in policing discussions with Windsor and Amherstburg's mayors recently only because of his town's proximity to the two others. "Right now, quite frankly, we're providing exceptional service for our community and we're doing it pretty financially efficient."
Antaya says the regional policing debate seems to come up every once in a while, and it could be something LaSalle revisits if OPP costs continue to drop over the next few years.
Council passed a motion, allowing its CAO to continue meeting with other local CAOs, at Tuesday night's meeting.
