UPDATE: Windsor Election Investigation

A police investigation into how the City of Windsor ran last year's municipal election continues.

Windsor Police Chief Al Frederick says officers met with complainants for four-and-a-half hours on Wednesday to discuss three new areas of concern.

There are now 35 allegations on the table -- a couple of which involve ballots. "I don't want to get specific about what the allegations are until the investigation is complete, because some things may change. And I'm certainly open to that possibility," explains Frederick.

Up until this point, the chief says officers have not uncovered any form of criminality in the way the election was operated.

He expects the investigation, which has been going on for a number of weeks, to wrap up next week. At that time, details about what the allegations are and what police have found, will be discussed.

Windsor police will not be disclosing who the complainants are in this case.
