New Home For Malnourished Pup (GALLERY)

A 7-month-old dog, weighing only 16 lbs. after being starved, is now healthy and in a loving home.

Reno was rescued by the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society nearly two months ago and has just been adopted.

His new owner, Derek, already has experience training a previously malnourished puppy. "I figured, why not get Jackson a brother that has the same story? In a sense that maybe they could relate with that situation together, and Jackson could train Reno, and Reno could make Jackson younger throughout the years."

Derek says he heard about Reno's story through the humane society's facebook page and has been visiting every week for about six weeks, checking to see if the puppy was fit for release.
