University Of Windsor 2.0 Unveiled

The University of Windsor has unveiled its 2.0 plan that will roll out over the next three years.

President Alan Wildeman says it will focus on student experience, investing in faculty and facility upgrades. "We are opening the campus downtown almost exclusively to support arts, humanities and social sciences programs," says Wildeman. "It's not just about enrollment numbers. It's also about impact, it's about things they are doing that really enrich our community."

Wildeman says up to 50 new faculty jobs will be created over the next three years. That number may be more or less depending on retirements.

The relationship between St. Clair College and the university is something Wildeman says is very important moving forward. "We are going to be opening a booth at St. Clair, (they) are going to open a booth here. We have regular meetings with them," says Wildeman. "I think students are looking for pathways that give them benefits of college and benefits of what university programs have to offer."
