The City of Windsor refuses to fly the flag of the cutting edge international church in preparation for its Jesus March this summer.
The same flag was flown at city hall in 2012, but Mayor Drew Dilkens says religious flags simply aren't allowed on government property. "It seemed to have been an error at that time. So when the city clerk reviewed it in future years, she determined that it really was a religious flag, symbolic of a religious event, and followed the policy that city council had approved."
Pastor Shirley Walsh is disappointed by council's decision because she doesn't think it would be discriminatory to fly it. "Our flag doesn't represent religion. It's the way we live."
Dilkens says a couple of his fellow councillors did receive complaints about the flag back in 2012.
