An Essex town councillor wants Ontario's premier to come to Essex County and witness for herself the value of rural education.
Sherry Bondy plans to introduce a notice of motion at the next Essex town council meeting extending the invitation to Kathleen Wynne. She says the funding formula for schools is flawed."You can't compete," she says. "We're pitting communities against communities right now and it's not fair."
Bondy admits it's unlikely Wynne will take council up on the offer, but thinks it's worth a try. "Guaranteed that if we are having problems with the funding, than the rest province is too."
She doesn't think the public accommodation review committee process has been very transparent and open.
Council meets again on March 2.
