Libro Credit Union officials are stopping by 19 Windsor-Essex food banks today, delivering $30,000 worth of food.
It works out to 4,600lbs of meat and 900doz eggs.
Skye Fairlie with Libro says the timing of the donation is no coincidence . "When we first started the program in 2007 we had asked the food banks when a good time for them was. After the holidays was the response we got. A lot of people donate during the holidays, so after the shelves get a little bare."
All of the meat and eggs is from a local farm.
Since Libro launched the Farms to Food Banks program they've donated $355,000.
