The need for a new transformer station was one of the key topics discussed by the mayors of Leamington and Kingsville this morning.
During their annual mayors breakfast, hosted by the Leamington and District Chamber of Commerce, Kingsville Mayor Nelson Santos told the crowd there are local industries and greenhouses waiting to expand. "The growth of our greenhouse sector is being thwarted by not having that infrastructure in place."
Leamington Mayor John Paterson says holding the tax increase to 0% will also help attract business. "But, you'll notice the rest of the county has had fairly substantial increases in their taxes. The gap is closing, we're holding the line on ours and they are increasing theirs."
The need for more electricity infrastructure was also a major topic during a conference for local business hosted yesterday by the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation.
