Not Hurting For Coats Anymore

Coats For Kids in Windsor-Essex has more garments than ever before.

The muslim community is the latest to donate, giving 300 winter coats to the program.

Chair of Coats for Kids Russ Anderson says about 12,000 articles of outdoor clothing have already come through the organization this season. "We've given out 2,400 coats, about 1,200 leggings and over 4,000 hats, scarves and mitts."

The amount raised so far will give Coats For Kids a nice head start for next season, according to Anderson. He says the organization didn't have much to offer for the first few weeks this year, so it let the community know it needed help and there's been a huge response.

If you'd like to donate gently used winter clothing, you can drop it off at Windsor's Unemployed Help Centre, or the Essex County Civic Centre in the county.
