Tom Bain is back as Essex County warden.
The Lakeshore mayor was re-elected at Essex County Council's inauguration Wednesday night at the Ciociaro Club, needing two ballots to beat out Kingsville Mayor Nelson Santos and Leamington Mayor John Paterson.
In his victory speech, Bain stressed the importance of collaborating with city neighbours in attracting jobs.
"We're not dealing anymore with just the County of Essex or southwestern Ontario. We're out on the world market today, we have to be out on the world market and if we're going to be strong enough to compete, we need to work with the City of Windsor," says Bain, adding he's already had general discussions with new Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens on the issue of transit as well.
LaSalle Mayor Ken Antaya was elected as the deputy warden at Wednesday night's meeting.
