Leamington Looking At Transportation Plan

Leamington Council could approve a $36,000 study looking at active transportation in the town at its meeting tonight.

Manager of Engineering Services Allan Botham says the study would look at how to best accommodate cyclists, e-bikes and pedestrians.

"Look at all those different modes of transportation and see how Leamington should set up a network so that people can get to downtown areas for shopping or get to our tourist areas," says Botham, adding the study will include costing projections for different projects. "We can take estimated costs and then we can start putting it into the five-year capital budget forecast or evene a 20-year budget forecast."

The County of Essex would share half the cost of the study under the CWATS program.

Leamington Council meets at 6pm in Council Chambers at the Leamington Municipal Building.
