LHIN Supporting Manor Residents

The Erie St. Clair Local health Integration Network will play a part in the closure of the Victoria Street Manor in Amherstburg.

If any of the 13 residents, most with mobility problems, end up moving to a facility, especially one serviced by Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario, they will fund the moving of the patient to the new facility.

This comes after fire regulations were not met in the manor, prompting Essex County to move on. "In order to correct those [errors] there were pretty high costs," says LHIN Senior Director of Health Design and Implementation Ralph Ganter. "And if I recall, the aesthetics of the building would change completely."

Ganter adds that two of the residents have already moved into new assisted living situations.
