The City of Windsor is taking a $300,000 hit from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
CEO Helga Reidel says a new e-bingo contract will mean a 56% reduction in revenue for the city, annually.
"We do understand, from OLG, that this is a consistent formula, implemented province-wide," explains Reidel. "When they did this with Caesars and casino gaming a year or so ago, it worked to our benefit. This is going in the other direction for us, although the Caesars revenue was a far greater benefit than this is a reduction."
Reidel says the city anticipated this loss months ago, and has been able to build it into its 2015 budget.
