Bouzide Recognized By Province

A Windsor man is now one of the few civilians ever to be honoured by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

Head of the Windsor Historical Society's Veterans Memories Project Dann Bouzide has been recognized for his efforts to preserve and share the memories of veterans.

His father was a World War One United States vet, and Bouzide says his dad's 100th birthday party made him want to get involved more heavily with vets. "They payed a tribute to him that was just the best thing that happened that night. We had people from all over the world at his 100th birthday party, but that just stole the show. Since then I've been working very closely with Larry Costello, who is pretty well Windsor's Mr. Veteran."

On a low budget, Bouzide and his team put together an annual magazine that's distributed to every Grade 10 student in Windsor Essex, along with medical offices and legion halls. He's also played a major role making a documentary called The Veterans Memories Project Take A Glimpse Into The Eyes Of History, which is set for national release.
