Amherstburg Campground Makes Big Changes

An Amherstburg campground that’s popular with young families, is making some big changes for the upcoming season.

The campground on County Rd. 18 has dropped the Jellystone franchise and has hired a new regional manager. Office manager Lisa Swift says some of the facilities have been upgraded too. “We’ve upgraded some electrical and some drainage,” she says. “They’ve also purchased the new playground, new movie theatre and new cabins that will be installed in the spring once we get rid of the snow.”

Swift says the programming will stay the same, but the campground is introducing two new characters: Bennie the Beaver and Susie the Squirrel.

She also says the campground is already filling up for the long weekend in May.
