A bill to allow single-game sports betting continues to be on hold, and Windsor-West MP Brian Masse’s frustration continues to grow.
He’s working throughout the summer to bolster support for the bill from other political parties, because its due to come before senate again this fall. “For us in Windsor and Essex County, it’s not only jobs at the casino, but jobs related to sports management analysis. So it’s all computer, math and statisticians, that will actually be doing real important, high end work.”
Masse explains that the bill didn’t pass this spring because Conservative members wanted a standing vote on the issue.
The problem became that not enough Conservative members showed up for there to be an official standing vote, so it was deferred.
