All that’s left for the old Grace Hospital site is for the bricks and mortar to come down.

Former staff and alumni came to give a final goodbye to the building Sunday afternoon. Maureen Annan graduated for the nursing program at the site in 1969 and had three of her children in the hospital. She is happy to get to say goodbye. “It’s great,” says Annan, “something that we feel we should do.”

Dr. Art Kidd remembered his time at Grace Hospital with a story about his first time reading over post-operative orders from Dr. Charles Lang.

“At the end of those orders, Dr. Lang had written ‘thank you, Charles Lang’,” says Dr. Kidd, “I had never seen such an example of collegiality and team play.” Many who came to say goodbye to the building shed tears as Amazing Grace was sung to wrap up the afternoon.
