E-bikes could soon be banned from all multi-use trails in the city.

Windsor city council will soon consider the bylaw that was recommended by the Environment Transportation and Public Safety Standing Committee.

Windsor Councillor Alan Halberstadt isn’t hopeful council will turn over the decision. Halberstadt was the only councillor present who voted against the recommendation.

He says there would be less dangerous accident if more e-bikes were off the roads.

Seriously? So lets ban every motorcycle and moped while we’re at it.. And ban all the bicyclists and pedestrians, they should all be in cars.

      Why the hate?

The solution is co-operation and accommodation not elimination.

Be careful out there, he might trade that cane in for a jousting lance, as it is, he likely left a trail of cane inspired carnage for kilometers :)

Best invention that ever hit humanity and its banned.
I don’t want to smell your pollution from fracking or your stinking oil sand.
You people need to run the ebike banners out of town but don’t send them here. We like ebikes laws that allow ebikes to keep up with traffic so we don’t get hit from behind from the dork drivers that want them banned. You know the dork drivers that like anti lock brakes on their cars. They are the same dork drivers that would outlaw ebikes. What I cant tolerate is a dork driver that makes ebikes laws so they are toys with a 20MPH limit. Then they want your 20MPH toy ebike in the street where dork law makers and average Joe dorks can hit you from behind. Your slow toy ebike belongs on the sidewalk. I would not drive a 20MPH toy on the road so the average dorks and dork law maker can hit hit me from behind at 35MPH. They also think that a ebike cant handle 45MPH because they have dork book brain for engineering skills. Earth and all of us suffer from the dorks in power and if you are a dork brain in power don’t breed over here.

I hear this all the time. I have spoken directly with people at the MTO on the bike file and have been assured that if such a measure was coming there would be 2 years of warning and currently there is nothing on the horizon.

So what is behind your angst other than mean spirited jealousy. Is it the 15 cents of electricity to travel 60 Km’s, the free parking,…what?
