Police Briefs – Tuesday August 29, 2019

The Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges after an officer spotted a car being driven erratically in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401.

This incident occurred around 10:20pm Sunday near Manning Rd. in Tecumseh.

When the officer pulled the car over and confronted the driver, the man showed signs of impairment.

Police have now charged a 54-year-old Chatham man with failing to provide a breath sample, assault with intent to resist arrest, driving while under suspension, and failing to identify himself.

The suspect’s vehicle has been impounded, and his license is suspended under the Highway Traffic Act.
