The police officer caught up with him after a brief foot chase in the backyard of a home on Stanley St.

Police also determined the motorcycle the man was driving had been reported stolen.

The 41-year-old is now charged with escaping lawful custody, possession of stolen property under $5,000, theft over $5,000 and breach of recognizance.
