Police Briefs – February 14, 2017

Two Windsorites are in police custody after an investigation on Rivard Ave. near Tecumseh Rd. turned up small quantities of crack, cocaine, oxycodone, and fentanyl.

Officers also seized $3,345 in cash along with drug packaging materials and equipment.

The bust happened around 1:30am Tuesday.

A 49-year-old woman and 58-year-old man now face multiple drug-related charges.

A 40-year-old Windsor man is facing assault and mischief charges after an incident at an apartment building on Dougall Ave. at Park St.

Police responded to around 6:45pm Monday, after reports of a man screaming and damaging apartment doors.

When officers arrived, they were met by a man who was sweating profusely, and had minor injuries consistent with being involved in an altercation.

As paramedics tended to him, the man removed his clothing and began yelling and swearing and charged toward the paramedics. That’s when an officer subdued the suspect using a taser.

Police in Windsor have charged a 36-year-old man after a bizarre incident at police headquarters.

At around 7pm Monday, a man came to the front doors at Windsor police headquarters and started banging on the glass. When the officer investigated, the man pulled out a knife, and then ran away.

Officers chased him to University Ave. E and Goyeau St. where they arrested the suspect.

The 36-year-old suspect is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a controlled substance, possibly methamphetamine.
