Police Briefs – Monday December 19, 2016

A 46-year-old Windsor man is charged after a break-in at a home on St. Luke Rd., just north of Seminole St., back in November.

Investigators found DNA evidence at the scene, sent it away for testing, and say it matched with a suspect who lived in the city.

Officers made an arrest last Saturday evening, around 8:20pm, at a home on St. Luke Rd., just south of Seminole St.

A 56-year-old Leamington man faces an impaired driving charge after he was stopped at a R.I.D.E. check.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police were set up at different locations in Leamington Saturday, but at a R.I.D.E. check on Erie St. N, a black GMC pickup pulled up, and the driver failed an alcohol screening device test. He was arrested.

The man’s driver’s licence was also suspended, and the vehicle was impounded.

Police checked 550 vehicles at three different locations.
