Impaired Driver Arrested In St. Thomas

St. Thomas police arrested a driver after his blood tested twice the legal limit of alcohol.

In the early hours of Saturday, police were contacted about a possibly impaired driver leaving a local bar.

Officers found the vehicle and determined that the 29-year-old male driver had been drinking alcohol.

According to police, the driver failed the roadside breathalyzer test and was taken to the St. Thomas police station.

The intoxilyzer test determined that the driver had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The driver was charged with having over 80mgs of alcohol in his blood. He was released with a future court date.
