Busy Sporting Weekend Locally

Iroquois Nation, with Aamjiwnaang's Kyle Jackson on the roster, lost 15-4 to Canada in semifinal action Thursday at the Men's Lacrosse World Cup in Isreal.
Iroquois Nation now takes on Australia at 1pm Friday in the bronze medal game.
Julie Greenshields of Sarnia will be in the Canadian National Team lineup when they take on Brazil Friday in the Rugby World Cup Sevens that begin in San Francisco.
The Sarnia Imperials host Sault Ste Marie Saturday, July 21 in the final game of regular Northern Football Conference  season.
Kick-off at Norm Perry is at 7pm. The 5-2 Imperials have clinched first place in the West Division.
Play gets underway Friday at the Waters Edge Classic with over 100 soccer teams from U-9 to U-17 competing.
The Sarnia Saints host Windsor Saturday at 3pm in Niagara Rugby Union Mens A1 play. The Saints are in top spot at 7-1.
The Saints are also in top spot in the A2 divison and host Windsor's A2 team at 1:30pm.
One of the most scenic runs in southern Ontario on on Saturday.
The course follows the St. Clair River through Sombra and Port Lambton with entry fees going to support the St. Clair River Trail.
There's a 10k run, a 5k run/walk and a kids Minnow Run.
If you haven't registered on line, you can do so at 6:30 at Brander Park the day of the race.
The last bus leaves the Park for the start line at 7:15

The Bluewater Boxing Club is hosting "Banger in the Hanger" Sunday, July 22.
Several local boxers will lead a Canadian team against fighters from Ireland.
The event will be held in Hanger #2 at Sarnia's Chris Hadfield Airport.
Doors open at 1pm.
