UPDATE: Kyrou Falls Short Of CHL Player Of The Year Award

Sting forward Jordan Kyrou came close to winning another award for his impressive 2017-18 campaign.

The 19-year-old was nominated for the Sportsnet Player of the Year Award but Alex Barré-Boulet of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada was announced as the winner on Saturday night.

Barré-Boulet led the QMJHL with 53 goals and 63 assists for 116 points in 65 games.

Carter Hart of the Everett Silvertips was was the finalist for the award from the WHL.

Kyrou recently took home the Red Tilson Trophy, which is given to the OHL's most outstanding player. It was the first time a Sarnia player won the award.

The Sting captain had 97 points this past season and lead his team to a franchise-record 46 wins.
