Local Swimmers Shine At Pentathlon

There were 21 swimmers from the Sarnia Rapids swim team at the 8th Annual Long Course Pentathlon meet hosted by the London Aquatic Club.

The majority of them earned personal best times in multiple events, earning a total of 20 medals.

Jack Girardi won gold in the 100m backstroke and silver in the 100m freestyle. Cody Stanford competed in five events, earning five gold medals including 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 200m IM.

Ella Boisvert placed 2nd in the 200m IM and 3rd in the 100m butterfly. Aili Girardi brought home three gold in the 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m IM. She also earned silver in the 100m butterfly.

Maddisson Hawryluk finished first earning gold in the 100m breaststroke . Kayla Marshall swam to a first place finish in the 100m backstroke and finished 2nd in the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200m IM.

Natalie Pretty finished 3rd earning bronze in the 100m freestyle. Jamieson Voth also finished 3rd in the 100m backstroke.

Grace Wallace won gold in the 100 butterfly and silver in the 100m breaststroke.

The Sarnia Rapids will be back in London in this month to compete at the Hollandia Invitational meet.
