Sting Hold Off Otters 4-1

The Sarnia Sting scored three unanswered goals to put away the Otters 4-1 in Erie Saturday night.

Sarnia now has 69 points and is in second place in the OHL West Division standings.

The Sting scored their first goal at 13:56 in the first period.  Jordan Ernst connected for the 23rd time this season. The Otters evened things up before the end of the frame when Gera Poddubnyi scored on the power play.

Sarnia scored two more goals in the middle period. Adam Ruzicka regained the lead for the Sting just 21 seconds into the stanza. Cam Dineen extended the lead later in the period on the power play.

Drake Rymsha also cashed in on an Erie penalty, extending the Sting lead with the only goal in the third period.

Aidan Hughes stopped all but one of the Otters' 30 shots in net for Sarnia. Daniel Murphy had 31 saves for Erie.

The Sting travel to Hamilton Sunday night to take on the Bulldogs.
