Ryan McGregor scored a goal and an assist as the Sarnia Sting beat the Peterborough Petes 3-1 Saturday night at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.
The Sting remain in second place in the OHL West Division with 50 points, two points behind the idle Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
McGregor's assist came on Sarnia's first goal of the game, scored at 3:15 in the first period by Sean Josling, his tenth goal of the year.
Peterborough evened the game up at just 41 ticks into the second period on a goal by Pavel Gogolev, though just over two minutes later, McGregor found the net himself and gave the Sting a 2-1 lead.
Adam Ruzicka sealed the win with his 20th goal of the season, an empty-netter with 27 seconds left in regulation.
Justin Fazio stopped all but one of the Petes' shots in goal for Sarnia, finishing with 25 saves. Dylan Wells stopped 48 shots out of 50 tries for Peterborough.
The Sting host the Saginaw Spirit on Wednesday night.
