Softball Canada Selects A Pair of Aces

A pair of Alvinston Aces will represent their country at the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship.

Cole Pavey and Robbie Black have both been named to Canada's Roster for the tournament next July in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The Glencoe natives are among the 17 players chosen from Softball Canada's selection camp in August, that was held in O'Leary, Prince Edward Island.

Pavey and Black will be joined by Thamesville's Brady Hogg, who is entering his second season with the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League's Strathroy Rockets.

Earlier this year, the coaching staff held a series of provincial and regional identification camps that attracted just under 200 athletes nationally. Team Canada earned the bronze medal at the previous Junior Men’s World Championship held in Midland, Michigan in 2016.
