Corunna Takes Game One With Walk Off Win

Very few things are better than a postseason walk off win, just ask fans of the Corunna Giants.

The team opened up their Western Counties Baseball League semifinal series against Wyoming Wednesday night, and the game had it's fare share of drama. Greg Sinclair had the big hit in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Giants a 5-4 walk off win over the Cattlebarons.

Jake Dolbear kicked in three runs in the first as the Giants jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before the Cattlebarons clawed back. Corey Saunders settled down after that for Wyoming, pitching shutout ball striking out nine in nine innings of work. His strong play gave Wyoming a chance to come back, and they did just that with three in the third, and another run in the fourth to tie the game.

The Giants can clinch the series Friday night at Canton Park in Wyoming at 7:30pm. The Cattlebarons will try and force a game three, which would go Sunday night in Wyoming at 7:30.

The winner of this series will play either the Port Lambton Pirates or Forest Dragons in the league final. That series gets underway Friday night for a 7:30pm first pitch in Forest.
