Plenty of local sports in Sarnia-Lambton over the weekend, here's what you need to know:

The Sarnia Braves continued their winning ways with a 15-3 win over Lakeside Sunday. Their latest win is the 27th straight victory for the Braves, who are now the topped ranked Senior 'AAA' Baseball team in Ontario.

Camlachie's David French finished five under at the Ontario Amateur Golf Championships, good for and eighth place finish. It was the second straight top ten finish for French at the provinal championships, he earned a fifth place finish in 2016.

It was a rare off weekend for Brigden's Cole Thompson at the Motocross Nationals circuit, which has cut into his lead atop the overall standings. He didn't finish his first moto and placed seventh in the second one, giving him a 13th place finish for the weekend.

He is still ranked first overall with three races left on the MX2 circuit, but he's now just two points up on second place.

Sarnia's Kyle Jackson had a goal for the MLL's Boston Cannons as they lost to Rochester 21-9 Sunday. Jackson plays for Rochester's National Lacrosse League team, the Knighthawks, during the winter. He had been playing with Six Nations of the MSL, until he recently rejoined the Cannons for their playoff push.

Jackson was recently named to the NLL's All-Rookie Team.

Sarnia Sturgeons Junior Varsity lost 8-2 to Oakville Sunday. It was the first ever playoff game for the Junior Varsity's in the program's history, they went 3-3 in the regular season.

The Sarnia Imperials had a bye week. They are 3-3 with a pair of games left in the regular season.
