Braves Hit Three Home Runs In Latest Win

The baseballs were flying out of Errol Russell Park Sunday afternoon as the Sarnia Braves won their 27th straight.

Justin Randall hit a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, and Julian Service hit his seventh home run of the summer as the Braves rolled over the Lakeside Lizards 15-3.

Randall says the guys have been in some kind of groove lately.

“Everybody really gets along, and it’s a whole lot of fun to come to the park everyday,” says Randall. “I think the big key with our team is every guy has a role, and everybody is doing their part to help the team win.”

Randall, who has been part of winnings streaks during his pro and college days, says this ranks right up their with those memories.

“When I was down in Southern Illinois we went on a 20 game winning streak and I never thought that would happen again. Now looking at the Braves, it’s the same type of team, all the guys are really close and spend a lot of time with each other.”

The Braves impressive start to the summer has not gone unnoticed by Ontario Senior Baseball, as the Braves are now the topped ranked ‘AAA’ team in the province. They have a record of 21-0 on league play, and ‘AAA’ tournament play this season.

Strathroy, who is ranked third in the province, beat Ilderton 10-2 Sunday night. The Red Army are ranked ninth provincially.

Sarnia travels to Exeter Wednesday night to take on the Express.
