Playoff Lacrosse Returns To The Point

The Point Edward Pacers will play their first playoff game tonight since 2004 as they open up their first round series against Six Nations on the road.

The series will shift back to Point Edward Saturday night, at what is expected to be a very crowded Point Edward Memorial Arena.

Point Edward will have their hands full with the first place Arrows, who were a league-best 19-1 this season. The won the only meeting against the Pacers this season, a 14-6 decision in Point Edward on May 13.

Pacers captain Korey Conroy knows it'll be a tough test for a young team.

"We're sort of learning on the fly, we don't have much time to drop any games because it's a quick series," says Conroy. "It told the guys we need to have the mentality that we can go into their barn and win, doesn't matter about the who finished where in the standings, anything can happen in the playoffs."

Goalie Brayden Bell, who made 712 saves and added 15 assists this season, is looking forward to the experience.

"Saturday's a big one, we're hoping everyone wears white so we can have a white out at the Point Edward Arena. The home fans have be supportive all seasons and the guys are looking forward to seeing that continue this weekend."

Bell, in his first season with the Pacers played for the Windsor Clippers in 2016. He suited up in all 14 post season games for the Clippers, posting an 8-6 record.

Saturday's game is a 7pm start from Point Edward Memorial Arena, and the team is asking fans going to the game to wear white.
