Letowski Joins Team Canada Coaching Staff

Less than a month after being named the Head Coach of the Windsor Spitfires, Trevor Letowski has been added to Hockey Canada's coaching staff for the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship.

He takes the position left by Kris Knoblauch, who recently accepted a coaching position with the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.

Letowski was behind the bench for the 2016 tournament, he also won world junior gold as a player in 1997. He played 616 games with Phoenix, Vancouver, Columbus and Carolina during his NHL career.

As a coach, he spent five seasons behind the bench of the Sarnia Sting before joining the Windsor Spitfires as an Associate Coach in the summer of 2015.

The Canadian coaching staff includes Head Coach Dominique Ducharme and Tim Hunter, who were both behind the bench for Canada at last year's tournament.

Coaches and staff will be joined by 42 players who have been invited to take part in the Summer Showcase being held in August in Plymouth, Michigan.

Sting forward Jordan Kyrou will be at the showcase in Plymouth.  Letowski coached him during his first OHL season in 2014-15; his final season behind the Sting bench.
