Errors Prove Costly In Loss

Port Stanley took advantage of some Alvinston errors as the Pirates topped the Aces 4-3 in Southwest Men's Fastball League action Tuesday night.

With the game tied 1-1 in the fourth, a couple errors lead to a three run home run, putting the Pirates in the drivers seat.

The Ace's started to chip away at the lead, as a sacrifice fly from Brad Cooper scored James Shields. Just as it looked like they could take control of the game, the Ace's left the base loaded again, something they did on three separate occasions in Tuesday's loss. Alvinston added another run in the seventh, but once again left the bases loaded, with the tying and go ahead runs in scoring position.

The loss drops their record to 2-2 on the young season, Alvinston hosts the Oneida River Kings at 8pm Thursday evening.
