St. Pat's Upsets Northern In Boys Soccer Final

St. Pat's upset Northern in the LKSSAA Senior Boys Soccer "AAA" Final, beating the previously undefeated Vikings 3-1 at Norm Perry Park Thursday afternoon.

Despite the Vikings finishing first overall in the LKSSAA standings with a 6-0-1 record through the regular season. At 5-2, St. Pat's had the third best record in the "AAA". They doubled up Ursuline College Tuesday, and followed it up with an impressive victory over the Vikings two days later. The Irish were winless against Ursuline College and Northern during the regular season, with those schools accounting for the Irish's only two losses.

The win marks the third straight season the Irish have won the 'AAA' LKSSAA Final in Senior Boys Soccer, beating Ursuline College in the previous two years.

Northern still had something to celebrate Thursday, as the Senior Girls Soccer team won the 'AAA' final, beating Chatham-Kent 4-0. Leah Williams scored twice, while Lauryn Hibma and Julia Foss also tallied for the unbeaten Vikings. Mya McArthur and Tori McRae combined for the clean sheet in net.

A shootout was needed to decide the 'AA' Senior Boys Final, as LCCVI escaped with a victory over North Lambton. Wallaceburg routed North Lambton 9-0 to win the 'AA' Finals on the girls side.
