Braves Beat Badgers

Make it six wins in a row for the Sarnia Braves as they topped the London Badgers 7-2 at Labatt Park Wednesday evening.

Nick Baljeu improved to 2-0 on the season, throwing five innings of shutout baseball. Alex McLean and Mike Damchuk each threw two innings in relief. The three pitchers combined for 12 strikeouts, scattering ten hits and a walk over nine innings.

Damchuk wasn’t done there, he opened the game up in the seventh inning with his second home run of the season. Craig Vannus also picked up three hits in the victory.

The Braves get some time to practice and rest up over this holiday weekend in preparation for their regular season home opener next Wednesday, May 24 against Oakridge at Errol Russel Park.
