Sting Come Back, Beat Spitfires 4-2

The Sarnia Sting scored four goals in the third period to beat the Windsor Spitfires 4-2 Sunday at the WFCU Centre.

Jeff King scored two back-to-back goals in that third period for the Sting in their second straight win, bringing them two more critical points in the OHL playoff hunt.  After Sunday's game Sarnia has 62 points while the Spitfires hold steady at 80 points.

Luke Boka put Windsor on the board first late in the first period with his 12th goal of the year.  The 1-0 Windsor lead was doubled in the second period by a goal from Jeremiah Addison, his 24th of the season.

Anthony Salinitri began the Sting comeback at 7:12 in the third period when his 22nd goal of the year put Sarnia on the board.  King then had both the equalizer and the winning goal in the game.  Jordan Kyrou picked up an insurance goal for the Sting with less than two minutes to go in regulation.

Michael DiPietro struggled in goal for Windsor in that third period, but got 21 saves in the loss.  Justin Fazio had 36 saves in the paint for the Sting.

The Sting host the Flint Firebirds Wednesday night, while the Spitfires welcome the West Division leading Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to the WFCU Centre Thursday night.
