Squires Host Ripley With 3-1 Series Lead

The Perolia Squires will have a chance to finish off their first round series with Ripley Friday night at the Greenwood Recreation Centre.

After splitting the first two games, Petrolia won both games last weekend to take a 3-1 lead in the first round series.

The Squires have been lead offensively by former Sarnia Legionnaire Brent Sauve, who's exploded for five goals and 12 points in four games so far this post season. Not bad for a player who registered six goals and 14 points in 19 regular season games. This is the Sarnia native's first year with the Squires after three years at Adrian College.

Another former Legionnaire, Camlachie's Jesse Drydak, has five goals in four playoff games. He also previously played nine games with the Sarnia Sting.

You don't have to look far to see Ripley's ability to come back. Despite trailing 6-1 through 40 minutes in game two of the series, the resilient Wolves scored six third period goals to stun the Squires, and win the game 7-6.

A Wolves win Friday night would force a game six Sunday afternoon in Ripley.

Puck drop from the Greenwood Recreation Centre is set for 8:30pm.
