Junior Hockey Wrap Up

The the second straight night, captain Hunter Tyczynski scored the game winning goal for the Sarnia Legionnaires.

This time, it was a shorthanded tally in the second period that stood as the difference maker.

Defencemen Brett Storr and Sam McCormack also scored for Sarnia, who improve to 4-2-0-0 on the young season

Jorgen Johnson made 20 of 22 saves in the victory.

The Legionnaires are in LaSalle Wednesday, returning home Thursday for a match up against Strathroy at Sarnia Arena.

The Lambton Shores Predators scored five first period goals en route to a 8-5 win over St. Thomas Saturday night.

The Predators scored four goals in a 1:40 span during the opening period.

The win improves their record to 3-1-0-1.

Next up for the Preds, they are in Leamington Thursday before hosting LaSalle Saturday nights. They'll round out the weekend in Strathroy Sunday.

Two days after the Mooretown spoiled Petrolia's home opener, the Flyers returned the favour.

Kole Keating scored twice, including the game winning goal with 29 seconds left in regulation as the Flyers edged the Flags. Matt Hunt scored the lone Mooretown marker.

Chaska Thiel made 36 to record his first win, Nolan Hakr stopped 27 shots in a losing effort.

The Flags now travel to Essex Tuesday night, and host Wallaceburg Saturday.

The Flyers face Dresden in a home and home, Thursday night in Petrolia, then on the road Friday evening.
