The Chicago Cubs have taken Game one of a four-game set that pits the National League's top two teams, beating Washington 5-2. Colorado scored 13 runs in the fifth inning of a 17-7 win over San Francisco, and Baltimore beat the New York Yankees 1-0 on a sacrifice fly in the 10th.

Commissioner Rob Manfred says a decision will be made by Monday on whether games between the Pirates and Marlins will be played in Puerto Rico this month. Players on both sides are expressing concern about the Zika virus, prompting MLB to move the games to Miami. The teams are scheduled to play May 30-31 in San Juan to celebrate Roberto Clemente Day.

Jaromir Jagr has signed a one-year contract with Florida after leading the Panthers with 66 points this past season. Jagr will become the 10th player in NHL history to play at least 23 seasons.

Barry Trotz is one of the three finalists for the Jack Adams Award as NHL coach of the year after leading the Washington Capitals to the league's best regular-season record. The National Hockey League, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames are each donating $100,000 dollars to the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in fire-ravaged Fort McMurray, Alberta. Help is coming from outside the province as well, with the St. Louis Blues donating the proceeds of their 50-50 raffle from Thursday's playoff game.

NBA Playoffs Toronto beat Miami 96-92 in overtime to even their second round series at a win apiece. DeMarre Carroll finished with 21 points, DeMar DeRozan had 20 and Kyle Lowry bounced back from a poor shooting night in the opener to score 18. (read MORE)

OHL Playoffs London topped Niagara 4-1 to open the OHL final last night. The IceDogs opened the scoring but the Knights responded with four unanswered goals and finished with a 34-29 edge in shots. Game three is Saturday night in London.
