The St. Clair County Sheriff's department says it pulled the body of a 70-year-old woman from the water off of Harsens Island Wednesday morning.
Sheriff Mat King said the body of Harsens Island native Linda Pavia was found floating close to shore by a citizen at around 11:30 a.m.
Clay Township Police and South Water Rescue responded and recovered the body from the water.
The woman was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The case has been turned over to detectives from the St. Clair County Sheriff's office who found no signs of foul play.
An autopsy will be conducted to establish the official cause and manner of death.
