The Michigan Department of Transportation [MDOT] has cancelled planned closures for the westbound span of the Blue Water Bridge.
Four closures, of an hour each, had been scheduled starting at 11 p.m. Friday evening so anchor links could be replaced.
In an e-mail Friday afternoon, MDOT said the line boring was completed at an earlier date without disruption to traffic, due to innovative construction practices.
The work is part of an overall $3.6 million investment in steel structural repairs to the westbound span.
