River Road Project Begins

The River Road Rehab project is scheduled to begin Tuesday, August 7.

Crews will be grinding out the existing asphalt from the south side of the CSX overpass to the Suncor main gate. Once that's completed, new asphalt will be applied and lines will be painted.

The project is expected to take about three weeks.

Local traffic to businesses and residents will be maintained as much as possible but motorists should expect to face delays.

All other traffic will be detoured, using Hwy. 40 between Churchill Line and Lasalle Line.

The roadway will be closed for a few days for the actual paving process.

Motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route such as Tashmoo Ave. or Scott Rd. to Lasalle Line.

Sarnia police will have extra officers on patrol to ensure people stick to the speed limit and obey road closed signs.
